Industry Wide Use of Stainless Steel Banding

Stainless Steel Banding

The steel alloy which contains 10.5 to 11% chromium by mass is known as stainless steel. It does not easily corrode, rust or stain with water as in the case of ordinary steel. The stainless steel alloy is used in sheets, bars, plates, wires, coils, surgical equipments especially in the sugar refineries, aerospace and automotive structural alloy and also to transport various food items and beverages like orange juice. Since it is corrosion resistant, it has anti-bacterial properties. It is also used to make jewelleries, watches, thermal power insulation projects, electrical industries and weapons.

Stainless steel banding is famous nowadays and many industries all over the world are involved in stainless steel banding. The process of stainless steel banding includes ribbon wound banding, oscillating wound banding with giant coils and steel band in carton box, steel band in plastic dispenser (tote) with small coils.

Stainless steel jacketing is recommended in extremely corrosive environments to facilitate better run-off. Stainless steel roll jacketing is generally manufactured fromT-304 and T-316 prime grade stainless steels. It has high tensile strength and is required for insulated piping, boilers, bank houses, breechings, tanks and vessels. It is much smoother and stronger and reduces reflections from external lights. It is rigorously used in chemical factories and refineries, paper mills and steel mills. Stainless steel jacketing is also done in bridges, road constructions, food processing units, high fire incidence and in freezing units. It is most widely used in insulated pipes to increase job site efficiency.
